In this hackathon, there were about 160 participants and they had 48h to develop an application of any kind. They could bring their own ideas or accept one of the challenges proposed by the partners of the event. As a partner, Right IT proposed one challenge: use Salesforce to develop a business app. 

As Salesforce was completely unknown to most of the participants, in the first day of the event, our SFDC Consultants presented a talk about the platform. We had a full room! It was really satisfying to see so many young students curious about Salesforce. Later that day, we knew that one team was showing great interest in using Salesforce to implement their idea: an app to help people decide what to eat. 

On the second day, we had another talk, and once again had a full room with new attendees and even some from the first talk. BudDEIs, composed by Paulo, Mariana, Gonçalo and Angélica, the team who accepted our challenge, were present once again. 

They worked relentlessly in their app, with the help of our team. It felt wonderful to see them exploring the Salesforce potential. For their app, they used Visualforce pages and communities. We know it was challenging, but: mission accomplished! Congratulations BudDEIs! 

But for us, Shift Appens wasn't merely a tech event. We grabbed the opportunity and had our HR team talking with the people in the event, whether they were participants, staff members, visitors... The team presented our company and shared our vision and why Right IT Services is a company where people come first. 

It was an awesome weekend. From HR to SFDC Consultants, all working together to share the best in our industry and more important: sharing our expertise and experience building solutions in Salesforce with the younger (and eager) people!
